You are a perfect candidate for a hi-res streaming service like Qobuz. It's $12.99/mo USD or slightly less if paid in full for 1 year. All you can eat 24/7 and it's not all chicken fried steak with mash taters and gravy. Streaming Cannonball Adderley now.Cannonball Adderley in my Music Library
The logo in the left lower corner of the album art thumbnail indicates that I pulled it into my Library from Qobuz.I'm streaming the 24-bit / 96-KHz 'hi-res' version remastered in 2012. Looks like they include a PDF liner note. I linked to it below.
The additional information *metadata is from Roon. Everything in blue can be clicked on to lead you to relationships and deeper information displayed within the Roon screen.
Signal path pop-up is showing that the source is a Qobuz FLAC 96KHz 24bit stereo stream going to my Eversolo DMP-A8 network streamer/DAC/preamp then analog outs (to my power amp).* Metadata is information that describes other data, but does not include the content of the data itself.
Edits: 11/18/24Follow Ups:
I just downloaded Adderley's Something Else on Roon. It's 96/24, and for some reason it went right into my favorites where it will stay.
I keep adding new albums from Qobuz to my Roon Library but I can't immediately listen to them all. In order to find them more easily I sort by "Date added" which will display the most recently added Album Art on the first screen.

I have had that very thought. I'm just wondering what the learning curve will be and how much quipment I will have to buy.

Like E-Stat said, you just need an inexpensive network streamer like one of the WiiM models coupled to your DAC. Of course the WiiM will need access to your network over Wifi or an Ethernet cable. You then subscribe to a service like Qobuz. You can use the Qobuz App on your phone or computer to navigate and control music playback.

You'll need a network enabled endpoint. That could be an old phone or something like a Wiim, Raspberry Pi, etc. Not terribly expensive. You already have a DAC.
Cheech and Chong: 2 thumbs up!! Heard "Earache My Eye" a few weeks ago. Still love it.
Can't stand The Cars, but the cover of Candy-O...
Regards,
Steve
I'm OK with The Cars for the occasional New Wave / Pop / Rock but I also enjoy Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Mark Knopfler, and even Chet Atkins. Couldn't get into the whole grunge era much... Nirvana and the like.
The juvenile boy in me still gets a kick out of Cheech and Chong.
Do you remember the Dr Demento Show on radio? He played a lot of offbeat novelties. We got it on KMET in SoCal and other stations where I grew up but I think the show was syndicated across the country.
But the Dr. Demento Christmas disc is kinds fun.
Love it! I have that one. Now you have me thinking of Weird Al Yankovic as well. I think Dr. Demento is credited with getting Weird Al known.

The Cheech and Chong Xmas exchange got a few laughs over the years. Sounded darn hood too.
Yes, that Cheech and Chong bit about Xmas is very good. I haven't heard it in years! I should make a "Demented Christmas" Playlist for next month.
...demented by definition?
.
I definitely remember Dr. Demento! I listened to him in southeast Wisconsin so either a Milwaukee or Chicago station. I heard Camp Granada by Allan Sherman and eventually got the board game. And then there's Marvin...
Yeah, Cheech and Chong are well in my past and are more about nostalgia than humor these days. "Alice Bowie" doing Earache My Eye always stood out for me.
If I dig deep enough I can usually find something to like about most bands/genres. But not all...
Regards,
Steve
Thanks for the laugh. I vaguely remember hearing "Marvin" before but I didn't remember the ending!
The song was Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah, but the board game was Camp Granada.
Regards,
Steve
That song was in part the inspiration for the Lynyrd Skynyrd band name.
