Personally I slightly prefer the sound on DVD-A. It sounds just a little more natural to me than SACD. Although not too much is being released these days the King Crimson series is most excellent. Doesn't bother me, DVD-A, SACD, blu ray, hi rez downloads I can play them all and will take what I can get. What has been disappointing is the lack of blu ray releases. I can count the ones I have on one hand. Now there is a format that isn't dying, it can't even get off the ground.
are the determinants. We agree about that as we do about enjoying/playing many formats. However, I have seen little or nothing of value from DVD-A in recent years. OTOH, I have acquired increasing numbers of Bluray music releases. Guess we are interested in different things.

Kal,
I feel that all formats can co-exist and that there is plenty of room for all format lovers. The physical medium (vinyl, cd, dvd) is not going away anytime soon!
