IME, the dual-disc was never a bad idea. Upon its release, consumers were already on the fence with the whole SACD vs. DVD-audio thing.....

I believe the multi-disc Quadrophenia coming in a few months will also contain a DVD with 8 tracks remixes in surround. Not the whole album just selected tracks, better than nothing, but falling very short of having he entire album in surround.
I'm assuming it will be lossless and not just a DVD-Video disc.
