Hi,
I just bought a Linn Akurate, which is a CD/SACD/DVD-Audio-player. I want to download high resolution downloads and burn them as my own DVD-Audio-discs to play on the Akurate.
Are there any recommendations as to the best discs to buy, which give the sonically best results?
Regards, Florian Hassel

Stick with Sony, Taiyo Yunden, or TDK blanks.
A lot of info on this site

make sure you read what recorded discs can be played back in the machine.then buy those discs.
mch dvd-a mch sacd & blu-ray concerts rule.
DVD's are basically data disks. They are not prone to jitter issues. Anything that stores data safely and can be read by your DVD-A player should be fine.
Dye quality, longevity of disc life, consistency of product, lowest "coaster" rate, etc are a concern. As I said on Hi-Rez, Taiyo Yuden and Mitsubishi Chemical (Verbatim) are the way to go if you want the best quality discs.
But for general recording (TV shows, etc), I break out the cheap stuff (usually <$20 for 100 discs).
