What kind of tracking issues? Haven't listened to the CD yet. The DVD-A has more playback options than DVD-A groups which can be confusing if you are trying to play it without a video display connected (2 channel rig). I will have to dig out my Japanese vinyl for a comparison but my impression so far is the DVD-A stereo 2009 mix is the best this (stereo) album has sounded.
In my home theatre system, I select the playback options on-screen. FWIW, I prefer the DTS 5.1 playback to DVD-A 5.1 (via OPPO analog outs).
Follow Ups:
You can check the forums for the specific issue. My friend got the UK disc as well, in surround it hangs up and stops in between a couple of the tracks around "Lady of the Dancing Water" or something like that.
Just played my Lizard yesterday. Yes, it sounds FANTASTIC. But what happens is at the end of track 3 it goes to a track 4 that is blank and seem to just sit there and play nothing while the time counts down. You have to go back into the menu and set up the next track. It is a pain in the you know what and I was hoping that it would have been fixed with this release.
I received my copy from Amazon (US) last week. I have listened to both 5.1 mixes and the 2009 24/96 stereo mix and have not encountered any problems.
It does seem to be player specific and doesn't happen with all players. I have a Pioneer dv-79i and it happens. Not that big of a deal, you need to hit the track advance button before the end of the track and it moves forward nicely. amazing disc!
