mine are 2006 but they dont say remasters.the cd side wont play.I use a 7.1 & there is no bass coming out of the subwoffer.I have all floor standers there plenty of bass coming out of those speakers.Neil recomeded these he knows more about how they were made.Im playing psyco candy again.I wish the sub worked it would make these even better.but the sound does have some bass.

I'm pretty sure the CD DualDisc side, if you could hear it, would be the same as what I have. It's not nearly as much of a driving aural assault (in a good way LOL) as the LP. I do have a sub to reinforce the Maggies, but there has to be something there to start with. The bass is very recessed in the mix, and very smoothed off IMO.
I was wondering if I could get more bass if I wanted it.I looked into the manual.found another way in the tone controls.Ive never messed with them.the bass control adjusts the sub.It goes from 0 to 12.I had the sub thundering with bass.to much so I dicided to leave it at +2.thanks for the post,If I want more bass I know were to look

there is bass in the subwoofer now.I had it set to neo6 sub didnt work changed it to pro logic 2 and it works. I will look in my manual to see witch setting make the sub work better. If you want lots of bass on this music the sub needs to be turned up all the way.all I did was turn it all the way up in the rec not the sub.any way hope that helps.

With Neo6 (being the DTS fake surround algo) did you have it set to Cinema or Music? On my reciever the first time I press the Neo6 button it is in Cinema mode, the second press gets it to Music.
DPLII also has many different modes of operation. Try cycling through the options on your reciever. Also, DPLII does not encode .1 channel information, so that .1 subwoofer sound is actually being diverted from the main channels - not a great idea for my preferred tastes, but it may sound just how you like it (which is all that really matters, I guess).
hi Neil glad to see your back.yes it was on the dts neo6.tried prologic2 music it was working.but not very loud.the tone control bass kicks the sub in.the poster was wondering if it was possible to get more bass it is but settings need to be changed.
I was wondering why the sub would only work on 5.1 discs.I dont like much bass but its strange that the tone control can give the sub some volume on regular discs.

I guess I could turn up the sub, but it's set at the "right" level to integrate as seamlessly as possible with the Maggies the way they're set up.
Don't tell anybody, but I have a parametric EQ and a dbx (to "uncompress") in my preamp tape loop...I took them out of storage a few years ago because so many current CD mixes/recordings seem to need them... So I can fix 2-ch stuff a bit when it gets really annoying.
