It clearly states that she is a singer from Iceland. There is no mention of any Japanese connection, but in 2005 she performed in a concert with "Dreams Comes True" (one of my favourite Japanese bands).
Incidentally, her name in Katakana is ビョーク・グズムンズドッティル (or, phonetically, "Byooku Guzumunzudottiru") :-)
I seriously doubt any Japanese mother would call her daughter Björk because it sounds too much like 病気 ("byouki") which means "illness".
The Japanese government has prohibited a Japanese couple from calling their child "Akuma" (because one of the meanings of this word is "The Devil").
