In Reply to: RE: If a disc is really a DVD-A does it have to use MLP? posted by jimmyjames on August 14, 2008 at 12:37:07
I think by definition a disc is a DVD-A if it has content in the Audio part of a digital versatile disc. the content here could be uncompressed 24b/192kHz/2,0, or MLP compressed 24/96/5.1usually it would also have a lossy 5.1 track in the -V part (DD or DTS), and sometimes you get an uncompressed hirez 2.0 track in the -V part as well.

Edits: 08/15/08Follow Ups:
The Audio_TS folder content can be from CD resolution (16/44.1) to 24/192 in stereo. Uncompressed.
In 5.1 it can also be from CD res to 24/96.
MLP is mandatory if the bitrate will exceed 9.6mbps.
