Back in December 2006 , approximately three weeks after The Doors - Perception DVD-A box set was released , The Doors manager said that Warner's production run of 20,000 box sets had been sold out . ( Each box set contained 6 DVD-As + 6 CDs ) .
Well , recently , Warner reissued the The Doors - Perception DVD-A box set . The new version has the 6 DVD-As + 6 CDs packaged in a small slipcase , instead of the original large box .
I own the original Perception DVD-A box set , and it's great .
While I don't own the slipcase version of the Perception DVD-A box set , I have seen it at local stores , where it has been stocked , and restocked . Printed on the slipcase are the DVD-Audio and Advanced Resolution logos . The Doors manager says the slipcase version has " the same music in the same configurations " as the original box set .
At a time when high profile SACDs have gone out of production and have been deleted , and have remained out of production and deleted , it's great to see that Warner has reissued its high profile Doors - Perception DVD-A box set .

second pressing? Or did they only promise the discs would not be sold individually?
It's a reissue, in different packaging.
The first edition still can be found all across Europe. And I do agree it's a beautifull box, excelent quality.
But... Regarding the new version... At least in Europe, you can find it as a CD ONLY! DVD-A ais no longer vailable here.
Just as a curiosity, the new CD only version comes with the jewel box commonly used for SACD editions...
Best regards,
Hugo Rosa.
I'm serious! I wanted to buy it the first time, but never saw it at the store.
:-)
maybe many more of Warner Bros. DVD-Audio’s will come back in print as well as new titles, hopefully mastered by Steve Hoffman!
I would also like the DVD-Audio from the "Lord of the Rings" set issued separately. As well as all the Doors DVD-Audio's released separately. I guess time will tell.

That is good but not unexpected. It's a Vinyl/Dvd-a store. The needs of the vinyl camp are being met so they have no reason to make requests. The needs of the dvd-a camp are not, so far, being met so consequently people are writing in. Judging from the intial response from the site manager, 5.1 doesn't sound likely in the near future.

If born deaf they would have never had experienced music but they could experience love. They just couldn't have both.
If they went deaf, they can still pay music in their heads. Indeed by the time Beethoven wrote his 9th Symphony he was totally deaf.

My best friend plays the Viola da Gamba and she is totally deaf in the right ear and wears a hearing aid in the left ear. She has a lot of background noise in the one ear she can bearly hear with but she still loves music very much.
So if a person who could hear at one time would not love music any less because they can no longer hear it. Indeed as I said Beethoven was totally deaf and his ear trumpets no longer worked by the time he wrote is famous Symphony No. 9. If anything music lovers who have went deaf may actually love and appreciate music more than those of us who can hear.
This is totally different than a person who was born deaf and never was exposed to its beauty, and thus does not have the ability to love music.
My quote “My Is Love” is David Crosby’s famous song from his LP “If I could only remember my name”. I can play this on my guitar as well.

I was hoping that they would release the Doors DVD-a's separately. But on the Doors message board, the Doors management stated that this will never happen. So I wound up getting the box set, where I probably would have just gotten 3 albums.
