You can stream and continue to buy CD's, LP's, and artist merchandise to support them if you like. With Qobuz you can stream and buy hi-res downloads.I have a few headphones including the somewhat high-end Grado RS1e and my Schiit Asgard headphone amp. They sound wonderful. The Schiit gets hot to the touch as it is probably running Class A. None of these have been used more than a handful of times as I much prefer listening to my system w/o cans over my head. I couldn't warm up to using headphones. The headphones and amp been in storage bins for almost 10 years now.

That is exactly what I do. When I discover something on Tidal that I really like, I buy the hard copy. And in my setup, I think the CD versions do sound slightly better, but not by much.
I would have to live in a closet, before I use headphones.
