I'm just wondering if anyone has heard the Wavelength Audio Pelham USB DAC and, if so, what they think. Any thoughts on the sound of other DACs by Wavelength Audio would also be welcome.
Thanks!
Chris
Follow Ups:
My Wavelength Brick USB DAC v3 from a dozen years ago was just OK compared to other DACs of its time in the same price class.
I thought the Wavelength was very smooth with nice midrange - as tubes do - but otherwise it was noticeably rolled off in the bass and treble. The overall sound was 'polite' as in lacking dynamic punch. Didn't offer much detail either. I believe MSRP was right around $2000 with the Mortar upgrade power supply which I had.
I kept the Wavelength Brick USB DAC v3 for a short while, used it to digitize some vinyl, but got tired of it soon after. I felt like too much of the music was missing -> bass, treble, detail, dynamics.

In my audio setup back in 2013
Large rubber mat on top of Pass preamp with DAC on top
for line level output amplification powered by a wall wart is not the stuff of dreams!

"The Brick's power supply is "a high quality custom wall wart" whereas the dearer models go more custom and then outboard on the supply."
Yours must have been a "dearer" model.
From my post:"2013: Wavelength Brick USB DAC v3 + optional Mortar power supply shown behind it."
Most folks who had the Brick DACs bought it with the Wavelength Mortar LPS as that's how it was typically bundled. You had to go out of your way to buy it with the wall wart.

Good choice.

Hi Abe,
Thanks for the very informative and helpful response!
Best,
Chris
I can't comment on other Wavelength DACs but I thought the Brick was a bit of a disappointment compared to other DACs that I had.
Good to know! They're not cheap, so I'm glad I asked around
