That you were unable to distinguish the Sonore from the Raspberry Pi? Or am I thinking of someone else?
It costs almost a $1000, and it doesn't seem to support streaming from a hard drive.
Follow Ups:
I hear a slight difference between my Sonore microRendu vs my Raspberry Pi 4B both over USB to my DACs. They sound a little different but is one better than the other? In my system and IMHO - no. It's like splitting hairs. I can definitely hear much greater differences including improvements from the DAC.... much less so from the streamers.
My 2-cents worth.
The differences aren't night and day but they do exist in the level of refinement. I find them worth the investment with the primary system. An RPi4 serves as backup while the RPi3B does garage duty.

If you mean locally attached, correct. Sonore does not intend for the player to act as server nor provide power to other devices like spinning rust. It is optimized as a 1A player (like my declocked RPIs) sourced by a range of network attached output modes. Those are covered in the link provided in my previous post.
I access my local digital library and Qobuz Studio through the network using LMS the same way as I do the Pi family.
I'd love to hear a comparison sometime. I use a USB decrapifier (Wyred4Sound Recovery) and a linear power supply (Uptone JS-2) on my RPI so maybe that makes a bit of difference. And of course, most people say that the DAC is the most important link in the digital chain.
and as always, is just my opinion.
I also prefer using a battery or linear based power supply for my Pi family for similar reasons.
I'm talking about a stand-alone connection through USB, not a server.
