Anyone using this combo between a transport/DAC configuration ?
Is it beneficial ? Effects on SQ with/without.
Opinions wanted.Thank you for anything useable.

I use the MC 3+ USB and like it. I've loaned it to a few, local music lovers who did as well. Never tried the REF10 SE120 as it's way out of my budget. One thing I've found with the MC3+ USB; it always sounds best when the input and output are the same (for example, S/PDIF in, S/PDIF out).Mutec just came out with the REF10 Nano. Apparently, same clock and specs of the more expensive REF10, just less outputs and features, more suited to consumer vs pro use. Retail is around $2k.

Yes, I use the MC3+ (non-USB version) but not the clock reference. Improves everything and brings even modest servers up to the level (or above) even expensive ones that don't reclock.
I appreciate the information.I was turned onto this combo by one dealer.I have been informed that Audio Note doesn't believe in using these devices between their components (not back to basics ?),by yet another dealer.
Was trying to get the facts straight, prior to taking the plunge.
Most appreciated.
Interesting. The signal from my Mutec feeds an Audio Note DAC with clearly positive results.

I recently auditioned the Mutec MC3+ USB as a reclocker, between streamer and DAC..... (The "USB" implies USB capability, I used the optical in and out.) It can also be used between disc transport/server and DAC..... It basically improves stream accuracy (lower jitter, stable digital signal), which yields top performance from even the least expensive of streamers like the Wiim Pro.
Highly recommended.
