if I was spending $200 to see sample rates I would get something like an apogee big ben. Sure the display is not as nice as the topping and its a full form factor, but you get helpful reclocking and can see the sample rates.

If you follow this thread you will realize that we are talking about displaying sample rate over USB.
Apogee Big Ben is a 20 year old product that doesn't have a USB interface. It solved some studio clocking issues that existed decades ago but it's not applicable to modern USB Audio Class 2 DACs that operate in asynchronous transfer mode..... which nearly all modern USB DACs do.
It still sounds good btw. I am using it with the usb to optical converter and yes I did forget about my anti usb bias thx
