Hi Guys,
Out of the high end loop for many years now and just setting up a small computer office system with spare parts...
1. source-Spotify (sorry)
2. pre/phones: Schiit Jotunheim
3. amps: Sugden A21a, Marantz 8B, Virtual Image (push pull EL 34 in triode)
4. speakers: Rogers LS3/5a 15 ohm
interconnect: Nirvana S-X
speaker: JPS superconductor
so..all old stuff with exception of the Jotunheim.
Need: different speaker cables. can't deal with the stiffness of the JPS.
Recommendations?
And I just may fall into the rabbit hole again and start learning about high-rez streaming and servers and s..t like that. Just not today!
So.. speaker cables anyone? $150-$200 for a 6 ft. pair?
thanks

Perhaps you can read this article, which records the Top 15 High End Audio Cable Wholesalers. I hope you can find the speaker cable brand that suits you best.
There are several makers using various Mogami wire. Very good, neutral sound for the $. Search for "worlds best cables" on Amazon for one.
You can spend a lot more money and have worse sounding systems than you get with mogami speaker cables. I really like their ability to avoid interference from other cables or interconnects, especially given the fact that my own cables and cords are not very well organized. I also use them for interconnects, from WBC. The rca plugs are especially high quality.

I needed a longer pair for a second amp and these are surprisingly good.

I should have bought the long-ago review sample.
Here's an "Oldie but Goodie" bulk cable choice from Supra, the Swedish company (their website is undergoing maintenance).
Now, the cable is budget-priced, but you should buy their gold-plated screw-on spades, at $5 each. Then, because Madisound does build crossovers, you can pay Madisound to solder the spades on with solder that has a high silver content.
Then, I'd suggest that you listen to them and break them in, and then, because you are still under budget, send them out for cryogenic processing, and I can suggest a good place that prices very fairly and turns around promptly.
If you want to be Mr. Science, you can send one out for cryo-ing, and save the other for comparison.
Or! You can ask Madisound to fabricate 3 x 6-foot cables, break them in equally, and send two out for cryo and save the other one as the Benchmark.
Fun fun fun!
If you want a simpler solution, I really like WireWorld's more affordable offerings, in terms of value for money.
Best of luck, and I hope the Sugden gives you much pleasure.

The Micca (14 gauge) speaker cables are too cheap not to try. $25 (6'pair) and $40 ( 12'pair) from Amazon. So no real risk as you have 30 days or so to decide. FWIW, I found there is a modest break-in period. These have been occasionally raved about on Steve Huff's podcast for a few years.
Or give these Nordost knockoffs a look. They're pretty popular with folks around here.
Probably easier and more cost effective to simply make way more than the order from Nordost and sell them under generic names as overruns.
Let the generic companies terminate the cables themselves and brand them as whatever.

While I love the Aliexpress Valhalla.Make sure that you purchase the model designation that will fit your system best.
Valhalla 1:is more laid back in the upper frequencies.Same large sound space.
Valhalla 2:more top-end energy providing a slight increase in dynamics.Ever so ,they are a little less warmth.
These replaced the Fideliums that I was using.A little too warm and were masking transient detail.
Hope this helps.
I second that.
Those Nordost knockoffs are by far the best speaker cables I've had in my system, and I've tried a bunch. Terrific stuff!!!
I have the higher conductor-count, more expensive Nordost knockoffs but haven't tried the less conductor-count knockoff at the link above..
Thanks!

Many thanks
