Hi all,
I merely wanted to share my findings on both of these PCs | once again both have replaced the 3 NEARdost based designs, namely 2 Odin 2 | 1 Odin Gold ( the more expensive version ) which only required my usual 2-3 tracks to know that it was time to move on.
As reported by Dantheman to me in a private email | said XS-950 gave him a particular sound as it relates to soundstage of which he had never experienced in any other brand of power cord, and guess what?, he was absolutely right..., as I'm currently rotating both cords between my Aurender server and one of my integrated amps | a Heed Audio Obelisk Si lll in this case, I've to say once again having owned cords upwards of $800 ( call me the practical type of music lover ) having explored said Chinese made designs has if nothing else proven to me there are times where implementation is just as important as overall cost in said matters.
As I've noticed while many here have in fact purchased said NEARdost based IC's | SCs, very few if any, went on to try their PCs, with the exception of Judith as I seemingly recall, and even here I'd ask her to sample said Xangsane cabling | cords as very very cost effective means of enhancing one's system | please don't sleep on their usb cable, or IC's, as all of them have changed my outlook on what's possible for said amount under $200 cabling wise..., so much so as I've stated time and time again ( yet literally meaning this time around ) my quest for cables ends here, as I don't feel any desire to spend more, or even read about or listen to anything other than what's in place at this very moment | as each of us have taken time to understand the voicing process of each of our components | I'd hope gained more insight into how to go about addressing any of their shortcomings?, and then look at ways of minimizing their respective weaknesses | while building upon their strengths, logically makes a great deal more sense than buying newer components to merely offset said weaknesses, as there are times where one needs to only voice said gear to respond in a collective manner based upon synergy above all else, as constantly chasing the illusion of the absolute | in fact overtime can become quite costly | sometimes very very difficult to achieve even if one has thousands of dollars to invest in their system.
As I know it..., a well balanced system put together with said sense of synergy in mind, will and often outperform a more costlier system put together based upon class ratings, where very very very few actually take into account how any given reviewer has incorporated said pieces into " their system " changes are many of us will never have said reviewers said system, of which each piece has to in fact know how to play well together like children first meeting one another on a playground | so will go onto have lifelong friendships | while others aren't going to get along with others, it's just the way things are.
Yet once again, I can't stress enough just how well balanced these cables are, and in my mind ( heart ) I believe everyone needs to if nothing else, at the very least sample them, who knows, you might actually find yourself in a much much better place?, of which your attention ( hopefully like mine ) becomes more focused on simply adding more and more music to your collection | after all isn't that what caused each of us to become so involved in building our systems?, as a means of better understanding how music should be rendered without are own space?, to me if said music reproduction isn't capable of moving me emotionally?, then it had failed it task..., it's only then that I look to move onwards, not backwards or laterally, but to understand my own priorities | build upon any given components as a means of connecting with the very essence of the music itself, which isn't quite the same as one merely listening to " their components ", which in turn only adds to the confusion.
Be well to you all | here's praying all of us have more time on the planet to figure out what's what, as it relates to finding our own ways to musical enlightenment?, in truth..., it's far easier than many of us make it.
Follow Ups:
Good morning All,
As of yesterday after initially placing the Grey Knight GK-6008AG ( which is once again essentially the Xangsane XS-6008Ag slightly dressed up in a black tech-flex finish ) which has seriously caused me to rethink the whole concept of power cord design | options available to us mere mortals.
This is indeed a cord which I'd say music lovers should definitely take it upon themselves to sample ( purchase | own ) before venturing elsewhere | I've never experienced notes popping out of my speakers in this manner..., the sense of top end sparkle is to my ears ( mind ) extremely addictive as the underlying instruments are placed as properly within | outside of the soundstage as I've ever encounter in even much costlier cords, vocal reproduction is simply wonderfully cohesive | bass notes are accurate as well as having the proper weight or foundation needed to carry the passages that can be both heard more clearly as well as felt throughout one's listening space. As much as I once enjoyed the NEARdost cables | power cords, I've to shallow my pride and say these are even better musically in every possible way..., and get my highest recommendation | and then some.
So those of you sitting on the fence | being overly skeptical as it relates to cords in general?, fear not as I've taken it upon myself to be the guinea pig in said manner and weight through the BS, as a means of assisting those of you whom are willing to trust my judgement as sound?, I'd ask you to follow my lead on said brand, as I truthfully believe in my heart, many of you'll enjoy the overall experience of listening to your favorite tunes even more. ABliss | Judith | KanedaK | Jon L. | Mick Wolfe | Mike K, I urge each of you to disregard our older preferences towards said NEARdost Odin types and move onwards to what I currently hear as the absolute short of one again having to spend between $500-$1.200 on any brand of cord as far as my knowledge base goes..., dare I say for the record?, the only copper based cord of which I'm even more impressed with each passing listening session is the Accuphase 40th Anniversary thingy, which once again can be found on eBay domestically for all of $43 for a 1.5m length, which serves my Aurender X100L music server better than a $700 cord which was used prior to having been told about it once again by a young man over on Head-Fi as being better than said Odin Gold.
I simply must emphasize the importance of changing out their stock blades or plugs with whichever brands of rhodium plated copper AC Male | pure or red copper IEC Female connectors as a means of unlocking the beauty of this cord..., as one can clearly hear each whacks | rimshots | decaying properties of any drummers techniques at the very forefront of the recordings themselves | this is very very very effective on acoustic jazz or classical recordings.
My intention for it is like Tangram to change out the stock power plugs blades, which are based upon gold plated brass, to pure copper ones and be done with it.
Once again..., this one should be experienced to be believed | you can always thank me later, as my 65th birthday is on May 31st, hell just collectively get together and as a group just gift me with a pair of the Grey Knight GK-6008Ag SCs ( shown above, which cost a mere $156 per pair ) of which I'd be most grateful, hint | hint.
Take care Kidz | until next time.

Edits: 05/03/23
After all of 4 days listening to mine which came in..., for me this is revolutionary in more ways than one | as this is the very first time I've ever placed a silver plated copper power cord onto either of my integrated amps, yet to my surprise there's a sense of stillness | silence between and around notes | balance | cleanliness I've never heard in once again cords I've owned since coming away from all cabling recommended by Naim Audio ( usually ones built for them by Chord Company during the early 80s to late 90s ) starting with the likes of Straight Wire Maestro | Harmonic Technologies | Audience | Acoustic Zen | Crimson RM Music Link | Grover Huffman | WireWorld | Organic Cables | Siltech | Synergistic Research | Oyaide | NEARdost and finally here.
In truth, while I tend to rant on a monthly basis due to lots of folks biases towards cabling or electronic coming out of China, all I can once again say as someone whom is more open minded than most, is over the course of the last decade or so, I've read many of the eZines based in Poland, and have sense had to weigh the truth as I read and hear things, cultures like China | Japan | Poland | Germany have become extremely resourceful and out the box thinkers when it comes to technology, as each are in themselves technology driven countries when it comes to the matter of cabling | cars | cameras and so on, more often than not these same cultures tend to stray from said items built in North Africa, as I've seen it since the late 80s, in my own families preference towards German or Japanese built automobiles, I mean even the Korea based Kia automobiles offer one of the best warranties on cars I've ever seen, as my wife owned their Genesis model back in 2008, which handled like a dream.
I'd say to each of you, isn't it time we all started to realize many things are in fact being perfected by cultures other than are own!, in said case " it's long overdue that many test drive their minds ", lest get left behind in backwards | backwoods type of thinking, ask any of Americans true natives about said matters, it then becomes clear other cultures get it, and often looked down upon because of said biases | hatred, it's time to seriously check oneself and get the fuck over said mindset of my dick is bigger than yours, and wake up...-, it's no longer about cost | nor pride in so much as the realization shit has changed.
ABliss | Dan | Tomasz | KanedaK, all four of you've called it right on this brand, it's indeed an ear | mind opening experience if I've ever had one. Thanks to you all for having shared this with me ( us ) take care fellas.
EL34,
Thanks for all the updates on the Chin see cable market.
Am still living with the ODIN 2 silver IC/PCs.Both worked well with the Chi Valhalla 1&2 and Fidelium SC.I may have a slightly different sound,as
mine were sourced from someone assigned to do wiring configurations for Nordost.
Have enjoyed the 40th Ann and ordered a few more for my KEF subs (62/92.
I purchased single PCs:GK-9008/P-6008 Ag and have eyes on a pair of the XS-950.
Did you find that you had a preference between the different Xangsane/Grey Knight PCs ?
And the Xangsane sterling silver ICs ? I bought the new XS-9003AG IC,assuming that it might be an improved version.
Thanks for keeping an eye on this ever-changing cable library, coming out of Chinese
Thank you.
Good morning Elixir63,
Thanks for the kind words | it's nice to see that you're still around as it has been rather quiet around here of late. To have this brand bought to my attention by having another member " Dantheman " go on and on about their usb cable bettering the Odin 2 Silver was enough for me to give it try | what I heard right out of the box without breaking it in, was proof enough for me to pursue their IC's | PCs without a doubt in my mind knowing there's something there.., enough so to sell off all of the Odin 2 Silver | Odin Gold IC's | PCs | USB Cables.
I recall your having found an earlier limited edition 12AWG Odin 2 Silver PC, of which I later gathered both the 14AWG Odin 2 Silver | 17AWG Odin Gold PCs were nice sounding..., both the Greg Knight GK-6008Ag ( chosen due to black techflex appealed to me more than the Xangsane Brazilian Rain Forest Killer Frog Light Green ) | said XS-950 power cord was recommended by at least 7 guys of whom I've been exchanging email ideals with, and once again pursuing it as well has proven worthwhile, and as I'm well aware there are better sounding cabling brands out there, but at what cost to us averaged income consumers?, as not all of us are blessed to be able to throw $10.000 on a PC, or $45.000 on a pair of SCs, nor $6000 usb cables | $8000 IC's.
For whatever reason?, in my system I've come to prefer the extra sense of refinement | detailing of the SP-9003Ag over that of the SP-9001Ag IC's, but like with most of this cabling stuff, it could be my mood?, or ear dependence as they change from day to day | month to month..., either way?, I'm enjoying both.
So the reality of having discovered said Chinese designs is to my mind, was and is a Godsent blessing, if there ever was one!. And it goes without saying, but you're more than welcome.
Stay 4ever young | the quest seemingly continues, eh?.

Your preference to the 9003 over the 9001 , el34, is I believe , because the 9003 uses double runs for positive and negative silver conductors as apposed to just single runs of the 9001.
Very valid point Tangram,
Yet some felt since the 9001Ag offers square conductors, it should've sounded better versus the older technology of rounded conductors. All I can add is my SP-9001Ag IC's have remained in a cigar box with several other pairs of IC's, stored a drawer right before me at this very moment.
Said SP-9003Ag IC's just seem to offer a nicely balanced presentation which draws me into the music itself | with the added PCs, I'm smiling ear to ear knowing it cost me less than say a set of nice isolation footers to bring about such a dramatic change fidelity wise that is...
Round v square ? As I have already got a set of 9001 in use and 9003 inbound, once I have tried the 9003 as a spk wire perhaps when i solder to xlr connectors I will do single conductors and compare. Lots of variables indeed but good fun.
So here is the list of to do
9003 as a speaker wire comparing against argento flow.
9003 with single conductors to compare to existing 9001 xlr between preamp
9003 with both conductors soldered and compare again to 9001 xlr between preamp
9003 xlr from preamp to power amp replacing Odin gold IC.
Round Vs Square refers to others having mentioned the different shape of the actual conductors, of which I can't speak on, as I bought both IC's ready made.
I'm definitely one whom looks forward to your upcoming projects | as noted just minutes ago upon placing the Grey Knight GK-6008Ag power cord onto my little Heed Audio Obelisk Si lll, this is yet another level compared to the Odin 2 Silver or Odin Gold and lastly it's stablemate of sort in the Xangsane XS-950.
It's without a doubt staying put...
Have you got a link to this xs - 950 xangsane, thank you.
I hope this comes through?:

And you're welcome.
Well El 34 I was a devil today, I ordered 10 meters of the 9003 ag bulk wire direct from their shop, they have a sale at the mo and what a price I snagged this at 😊
I have been using this for quite a few months now as well, I believe is very similar to you xsangsane. Whilst it is very good feeding from wall into my balanced power transformer, where everything is then fed from this, using a second one from the transformer trying into the preamp then media player then dac was no good at all, the system just lost all of its mojo. Iam loving both 40th accuphase from the transformer into media player and dac and about to order a third one for permanent on my allnic phono position Replacing the blades with pure copper ones of course.
I just love also the user friendliness of the 40th in regards to its flexibility.( BTW when I changed out the plugs and iec, the actual pos and neg wires were just pushed in and not screwed up tightly ) Always pays to have a look regardless I think.
I too are wheening off the Neardost silver / gold Odin.
I meant to add I caught this YYAudio version last week, yet having sent the link to a friend, he mentioned it uses some form of mesh outer jacketing around the cord itself, of which forced me to look for ones which an actual Xangsane model shown within the description | as there are way to many clones being found on AliExpress | in which case once again said Xangsane brand as a whole, at least as far as I'm concerned are the only ones desired on my end.
In my case..., as only 3-5 PCs are actually being used between the main | bedroom system, I've tried not to use any given cord more than twice. Yet having thought about the possibility of adding one more pair of silver or sterling silver SCs as you've mentioned, got me seriously taking cost into account, yet like you're looking into the SP-9003Ag, I felt this might prove to be a great option as well:
US $22.80 5% Off | Xangsane XS-1101Ag hifi two core 4N single crystal pure silver audio signal line XLR balance line over machine engineering line
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPcsv9A
But in truth with all of 7 pairs of SCs currently just sitting in storage, while the other two pure silver ones are in use | I believe this can be a project placed onto the back burner for a few months..., as I do recall this is also the exact cable being used in their absolutely wonderful sounding usb cable.
It then seems my quest hasn't come to an end after all.
Sounds good,
When the 10 meters arrives I will cut into two and try these as speaker wire for a while and see, just bare wires but twisted together the positive and negative wires. then I will terminate with xlr and try in lieu of the 9001 ag I have from dac to pre and phono to pre and compare there, finally I will then replace the 2x4.5 meter Neardost gold xlr that goes from my preamp to power amp.
This will all determine my best way forward for all interconnect and possibly the speaker wire!
BTW my current speaker wire of over ten years is the Argento flow silver!
It will be an interesting exercise indeed and minimal outlay of sorts.
Also the 9003 bulk wire is cheaper than the 9001 at the moment buying direct. Soooo coool.
Tangram,
I couldn't help but noticed you haven't mentioned much about anything regarding rhodium plating | as I to was somewhat hesitant to try it based upon Duster's seemingly dislike for it years ago..., however coming to read between the lines on how both Judith | Jon L were both using it on the male side of their power cords, sparked my imagination just enough to where I finally felt it was worthy of my attention | now that I know how and when to use it..., there's no going back.
Today more often than not, I've come to depend upon either said mixture of rhodium | gold | silver plated copper connectors, with pure or red copper being my last option these days, different flavors for bringing about different songs, yet finding the best purity of say 9.9999% pure versus red copper seems difficult of late..., as both Tellurium or Beryllium copper are in fact alloy versions at best, where their purity isn't quite the same, eh!.
Attempting to read between the lines with your choice of connectors, it seems you're into copper or pure silver whenever you've said options, would this be a correct observation?.
Interesting you bring this up EL34.
The YY audio power cable as previously pictured is Rhodium and is as is in use, on my balanced power transformer I also have a twin rhodium ncf Furutech and twin Oyaide copper 01 outlet.
Yes I do favour the solid silver plug and iec together and Iam using unplated copper elsewhere with the 40th Accuphase, this has the copper colour beryllium type and also have Viborg, I do have a set of the Rhodium Monosaudio 09 however I have not got around in trying this yet with the Accuphase as I am achieving my finest in music as is just now and enjoying just like you are.
Needless to say I will get to this perhaps when I order and receive another Accuphase powerchord. It will then be a good time to compare the various iterations of Accuphase chords I have in use. In my setup I am not convinced silver plating powerchords throughout is the way to go after now experiencing the Accuphase! Mix and match is the way to go.
BTW the YY Audio supplied rhodium plugs and iec have the tightest of grip I have encountered by far, maybe the plating is thicker?
Iam indeed looking forward to my incoming Xangsane 9003 ag bulk wire. The shop shipped out within 24hrs.
Iam eager to try as a spk wire first as you know. I will keep you posted.
Thanks for sharing this Tangram,
Like you...-, I too have felt that using to many silver plated copper IC's would bring about a sharper presentation where it isn't needed, and also agree said Accuphase 40th Anniversary cord to my ears is a remarkable cord for its price | I'd have to assume had it even been priced at $350, would still be a bargain in my mind.
I'll be awaiting to hear your findings on said Monosaudio 09R | types, as I'm currently only using its AC Male on a Viborg MTU 1501 which is used primarily on the integrated amps as each is rotated through the main system, so far the only remaining silver plated copper cord is the Jena Labs Crimson Red RX with a set of the IeGO 8095 pure silver rhodium plated plugs on it, the others merely sit behind me to my left awaiting their turn..., of which I've to assume won't be anytime soon. As it stands, I've merely been collecting because I know the brand and what to expect upon brief listening sessions..., but as it, the system is clicking in a manner which makes it very very difficult to want to throw things out of whack.
I'm also awaiting your venture with the 9003 used as a pair of speaker cables | as doing the math on said bulk quantities, it makes prefect sense to go said route.
Slap ( sounds like a plan ) indeed.
As someone whom had become sort of hooked on both Siltech | Argento ( actually their Organic line ) around 2009, where I've moved on, with stops in between with cables | cords from Acoustic Zen | Crimson RM Music Link | Clear Day Cables | Synergistic Research | Jena Labs, followed by a few items from Oyaide | Gotham Audio | NEARdost cables and finally with said Xangsane which ideally suits " Mi-Fi " as fact as biases and preferences go ( or have become ) at which point, I merely no longer feel the urge to read or sample anything else..., as this is the type of sound in honestly believe I've been searching my entire life to find. I'm willing to draw the line here | be content for the sake of knowing within, I've owed | heard more expensive cabling looms, yet none of them has caused me once again to enjoy listening sessions upwards of 10-13 on average 5 days per week, whereas as my wife acknowledges even she's moved to tears while listening at my side.
And while I wouldn't dare claim to be so all might audio guru | I've spent more than my share of time ( life ) chasing the absolute, only to become more aware of late, it's not within reach..., like having my dearest wife Michelle ask me, " if you had $300.000.00 to spend on a system, what would you buy? ", once again as I recall having mentioned awhile back, it won't happen, as I'm the more practical sort, where said items would ( and should be put together systematically ), in said case my source of choice would still be an Aurender server ( N150 model is enough for me ) DAC would be the Denafrips Venus 12th | Integrated amps options are either the Dan D'Agostino Progressive or Momentum amps as far as solid state amplification goes | or an Audio Note | Kondo Japan Overture or Cobra tube integrated amp | Speakers, without a doubt in my mind would be something neutral enough to compliment either said amp, would be a pair of Trenner & Friedl RA for the tube amps | or a pair of Revival Atalante 5 with said solid state amp, and the cabling loom I'd have to say is a sketch for me..., but I'd have to say it'd be from the Netherlands based company called Driade Systems, along with a custom sized rack ( lowboy type around 45" wide x 16" deep x 12.25" high ) and speaker stands from Sound Anchors ( as I've owned 8 different stands from this firm since 1993, I don't feel a need to change that now ) all told, well under $85.000, if that?.
Becoming more and more of a logical thinker of late | as well as assured of what to listen for | how to listen, has in fact become very very important, as being swayed by anything then the overall portrayal of the music itself is of less importance. Emotional impact rules my very core, HiFi effects has nothing to do with what one's mind | senses | ears | heart tell ( shows ) us, is " our sound ", it isn't about cost per se, in so much as how one reacts while listening to the musical reproduction itself.
