As I've to assume one should already know the sound of each component in their given system, I'd think a quick switch back to your original SCs should make it far easier to know the signature of said Chinese Valhalla SCs, no?.
My logic for pursuing a hybrid tube integrated amp was out of observation of most guys I know, whom all seemingly have always mentioned their pure tube amplification as being in the shop, or in need of constant repairs | my previous CR Development Kalyso EL84 integrated amp, even after being reconstructed had within 6 months went back to replacing the power tubes, and as I've always viewed it, it's the result of the heat from the power tubes themselves which tend to dry out items like sockets | wiring harness | capacitors | solder joints on many of said amps which use circuit boards, I got to the point where I gladly returned to solid state, with a Naim Audio Nait 5Si, followed by a Nait XS3, and finally a SuperNait 3, which is only rotated seasonally with said hybrid Pathos Acoustics Classic Model One MK ll, and as much as I once enjoyed | loved my old Dynaco ST-70 | Quicksilver 8417 Mono's | Cary Sweet 807 and 300B SEI | Audioprism Debut MK ll, and finally the CR Development based designs, never again shall said designs grace my system.
On another note, I did change out the binding post on each of said tube amps with Cardas Audio Pure Copper Binding Post, as well as Yamamoto Sound Craft Teflon Tube Sockets, which worked wonders.
I haven't gotten around to installing said Chinese Valhalla SCs into the system yet, as I'm currehtky enjoying a reunion of sort with a pair of Clear Day Cables Shotgun pure silver SCs and loving it, all in due course I'd say, provided the Creator deems it fit for me to have just a little more time on the planet that is...
Follow Ups:
I guess I'd have the same problems but I diy'ed it so I know the thing inside and out. That doesn't mean I don't goober things up though. I was worried when yesterday's fix didn't work but I took a breather and went back to it today and found the problem right away and now it works. It was yet another solder pad that lifted from the pcb when I removed the old sockets. Some boards are made better than others. Now that I'm good there I'm going to not touch the tubes or sockets again for a while. And also I'm going to just stick with these new "Valhalla" cables and just enjoy the newfound silence from the sockets.

Much respect for your know how, as well as willingness to let it be | simply enough what you've.

I brought the amp back upstairs from the "lab" and back into my main system and it sounds great. The black background that I get now is incredible.
Natalie Merchant's Tigerlily is playing now from Qobuz at 24/96.
And as I said, I'm keeping it this way for a while.

The beast in all its klugy glory. You can see the Valhalla cables in the back. It is a Dynaco chassis and transformers but nothing else is original. it was the two closest small signal driver tube sockets that gave me trouble. The other pair were fine.

And a beautiful amp she remains..., it was my first venture into tube amplification circa 1989 | the memories of what was still remains.
