Hi Dipole, the old Black Cat caps and the 2 big caps in the selenium rectifier next to the transformer are old stock. If someone was to do a mod those would be the first to go as they dry out in time.It does look very clean inside. Take care...-Mark Korda

Thanks, I was wondering if it was a 2, 3, or a post Dynaco build. But yes! it is as built. I finally identified it as a 3 from the selector switch. Ordering a can upgrade board, new jacks, LED pilot light. My other I just ID'd as a Dynakit build, I have to say with tone controls bypassed it is sweet. It is going to get Vishay carbon films at some point. Sadly, and my bad I didn't catch it, for all the money someone spent on that build Dynakit didn't drop in a fuse. Trans is on the way from Greece. PS from many posts here Dynakit's can cap is problematic.
If he breaks your heart I'll nail gun his.
It's an old, very original Dynaco PAS. It might have started out in life as a PAS-2 and then had the PAS-3 update which consisted of swapping-in the newer brushed aluminum faceplate and matching knobs.Again, it looks very original, which is rare. You might consider keeping it as original as possible while doing minimal restorative work. IMO, the hands-down best resources for original Dynacos are:

Thank you! I have both bookmarked already, the Regenesis tone control bypass worked great in my 2, which is waiting on a transformer. Somebody spent a ton of money at Dynakit and skipped the fuse. And yes on my part hindsight.... I started looking at photos of the insides under Google shopping, the long shaft selector switch seems to be in random models, as you just hit the nail on head, now I am thinking the 2 and threes on the pics out there with that style selector must be rebuilds. I just ordered a recap kit which has a cap board with a cover to look OE. But I am going to get the Dynakit jacks board. Sorta like trying to find a 72 Riviera with a working 8 track.....

Something easily overlooked when using vintage gear is the AC mains. Vintage tube gear has limits. In the case of the PAS, there's a voltage chart in the manual, and the allowable AC mains is discussed elsewhere in the manual as well, if I recall.
It can be spot-checked with a handheld meter. But AC mains can wander significantly over hours, days and even longer periods. If manageable, I'd encourage the use of either a data logging meter or something that displays the AC mains voltage in real time. Power conditioners and similar things may have this sort of feature.
