I'm not sure what you are asking. The Dynaco PAS 2/3 preamp is a legend in audio. Update it and you are in for a pleasant surprise. Don't forget to replace the selector switch which leaks as it ages.
My personal experience is that a PAS got me back into tube audio. I bought one, updated it, sitting on my back deck. Tried it and it blew away the NAD preamp I was using at the time.
Follow Ups:
This is different from any PAS pics I have seen, (I have a PAS 2 that someone did an amazing job restoring ) the selector here is different. Thanx for looking.
If he breaks your heart I'll nail gun his.
It has been at least 25 years since I updated the PAS, but that looks familiar and I don't recall there being any circuit changes PAS 2 and 3. You have a lot of update options. I just read all I could at the time and picked what I wanted to do.
I built a PAS 2 in 1964 later updated to a PAS 3 and finally a PAS 3X. And there were only 2 differences between a PAS 2 and a PAS 3:
1. A nicer front panel and control knobs
2. A list price in crease of $10
Finally the only changes to a PAS 3X were new bass and treble controls that were out of the circuit at their mid point.
Thanks at least I get to make the monster. Been binge reading here today, lots bookmarked. The power trans and fuse holder ( Wahhh and LOL ) should be here this week for the 2. Deciding to keep this looking stock with a fresh can and flip, it's kind of rare now to find a virgin....Thanks for your time!

Hi Dphole, My friend Bob Gates did a mod on my PAS in 1990.I am slowly taking out what I don't need the path.He put in Wonder caps, yellow, to replace any Black Cats caps.,which were the original's as shown in your amp.He did not replace the 2 big selenium rectifier caps next to the transformer. Here is a picture...-.Mark Korda
Hi Dipole, the old Black Cat caps and the 2 big caps in the selenium rectifier next to the transformer are old stock. If someone was to do a mod those would be the first to go as they dry out in time.It does look very clean inside. Take care...-Mark Korda
Thanks, I was wondering if it was a 2, 3, or a post Dynaco build. But yes! it is as built. I finally identified it as a 3 from the selector switch. Ordering a can upgrade board, new jacks, LED pilot light. My other I just ID'd as a Dynakit build, I have to say with tone controls bypassed it is sweet. It is going to get Vishay carbon films at some point. Sadly, and my bad I didn't catch it, for all the money someone spent on that build Dynakit didn't drop in a fuse. Trans is on the way from Greece. PS from many posts here Dynakit's can cap is problematic.
