The NAD you linked to says "Open Box". Was yours new but "Open Box"? Do you know if Safe and Sound is an authorized NAD dealer and does NAD care? [Some manufacturers are picky about where you purchased if you require warranty service].

  One could always ask the US distributor whether this dealer is authorised. They should be keen to answer either way - it's in their interest that customers buy from an authorised dealer.
