I first heard him back in the early sixties. Favorite album was "Jack the Ripper", on Swan Records, I think. I lent it to a friend and never saw it again. I finally found it on CD (picture above is of the CD). It has Rumble, Jack the Ripper and Mr Guitar on it, along with a great "chicken-picking" cut called Deacon Jones. Blew my mind back then--he was ahead of his time, along with Lonnie Mack. If you like Wray, you'll probably enjoy Mack's "The Wham of that Memphis Man" too.Also, and on vinyl, I have Link Wray - Early Recordings on the Chiswick label. Pretty similar to the Jack the Ripper album. I'm not familiar with his later work.
