The Cornet II is really a very decent tube phono amp and at an excellent price. If you are diy though, you can really tweak it up by putting in better caps...and can do that over time if money is an issue to start with. I've heard the Cornet II and Seduction in the same system and preferred the Cornet...but the Seduction was good and very close....so either is a good value.
