Some pointers :1) Let the Koetsu play for 100 hours (at least) then reassess the situation. The difference after the run-in is dramatic.
2) Do NOT ever set a VTF about 2g unless you want your Koetsu to bottom out quickly. If its doesn't track well at 1.95g, there is either a cartridge and arm mismatch or your settings are out. My experience tells me the Koetsu cartridges match the SME IV/V very well.
3) Play with the input impedence loading - generally, the lower the value, the more body/warm the sound. Increase the value if you want more dynamics but you lose some of the body. I don't advise anything lower than 100ohms tho. You can try 1k with your EAR phono stage.
