On paper, your Koetsu/SME IV is not than ideal match.The SME IV has a lowish effective mass 10-11 g while the Koetsu is a heavy cartridge with a low compliance. On paper and according to conventional wisdom, this is a bad combination. With the SME you would prefer a cartridge with a higher compliance. The Koetsu's reputation was made a long time ago using arms with much higher effective mass.
There is a thread on Audiogon right now about matching Koetsu's to SME arms. You might find the comments interesting. Some people have made the combination work using tricks like adding blutack to the arm to raise the arm's mass.
Also, you should pay attention to the loading of the cartridge. This can be a factor.
