Well, I don't think many people 'simply discard' $$$ moving-coil cartridges, like the $5k Magic being discussed here, they way they might a coupla-hundred dollar Audiotechnica or Denon.And once you're into the process, there are a lot of 'what-ifs' about the cart, the cost, the materials, the rebuild and the rebuilder.
