I have an Thorens 300 series, with a heavy metal platter. I was given advice to dampen the bottom of the platter with dynamat material to quiet any ring or resonance. Another person advised me not to do that because it work drain some of the life or energy out of the music. A third opionon was that if the platter is only lying flat and spinning it's probably not ringing, in other words if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Any ideas or comments are appreciated.
Thanks!
