.. as the 4K of LPs is worth about $50K and equipment $5K, actually I'm not so worried about the equipment as it is easy to replace, but the LPs, I don't even want to think about the time it would take to replace them, how many thousands of hours and miles driving it took me over the past decade, but insurance will not cover that! flood and fire are the biggest issues, best insurance is keep them protected (out of basement for example). I think I have heard from the most people LPs being destroyed by water damage 90%?, fire is a distant second 9%? frankly no one is going to steal anything this heavy, bulkly, and hard to sell. the remaining 1% is animals chewing, nesting, or so on. If you do a search in the archives there is a company that insures collectables.Mark
