Just like an analog front end, it is eseential to have the right components working together, i.e. CDP, interconnects, and power cord to get the most out of it. Although well recorded LPs have the edge in my system, CDs are very enjoyable, especially if i don't have or can't get the LP. I just experimented with the redbook version of Allison Krauss live versus the new MFSL LP release. The LP was definetely better overall (except in the bass for some reason) but since it was such a great recording, the redbook version was no slouch. Listen to the music not the format.
