Depends on what kind of records one buys. If you buy new records only or used records that are reasonably clean, I would go with the Degritter. If you love to dig through records at yard sales or find yourself buying really dirty and old vinyl, you'll want something to pre-clean...a Spin Clean or better yet, Disc Doctor if you're on a budget, or a suction-type machine if you can afford it. Nothing like a VPI or similar to get the initial gunk off before an ultrasonic bath. Now, if you're an ULTRA picky audiophile with time on your hands that just wants the best sounding records you can get, go with the Kirmuss restoration process. Time consuming, inconvenient, but incredibly effective. Lastly, if you clean a ridiculous number of records day in an day out, go with the KLaudio.
But you said just one! Without knowing any details and if I'm limited to just one, I'd go with the Degritter.
