RE: "very close-in cavitation, deep within the groove" ...

As:
* the size of the cavitation bubbles is inversely proportional to the Hz,
* and you say the Kirmus uses a low Hz

... I would've thought the cavitation bubbles must be larger with a Kirmuss than with 40k or 60k units - so they will be less able to "get well into the groove".
