Dear Audio Asylum Members,

Let me first say that I am the owner of Xtreme Cables and Xtreme AV... the Manufacturer of both the well regarded QuickSilver (QS) and QuickSilver GOLD (QSG) Audio & Video Contact Enhancers.

With respect to longevity of QS and QSG... I have found no deleterious long term affect where the musical presentation or the video image degrades over time. And with over 1,500 sales... I have yet to have a customer inform me that this is happening.

From my own personal experience... I have all 38 tubes of my Atma-Sphere MA1 Rev.3 Monoblocks pasted for over 2.5 years... and have not heard any sonic degradation (and these amps do get hot). When I have taken out a tube that went bad... the tube pins look nice and shiny... like they have been silver plated.

In addition, I have had all of my coaxial cable runs QS pasted for over 3.5 years (41 months)... and have yet to see any Video degradation. In fact, the color vibrancy of my set kept changing until about month eight... where it stabilized. I had to turn it down from the default setting of 31 to the new setting of 10 (that's a 67% reduction from the default setting)!!! And it hasn't changed one bit over the next 33 months.

While I am not exactly sure why Wally is experiencing what he is... all I can say is that I cannot rule out system synergy issues... and listener preference variables. But the feedback I have received from the customers who have taken the time to write up something or call me has been eXtremely positive... like my own.

Both QuickSilver and QuickSilver GOLD work by eliminating micro-arcing noise and lowering resistance across the connection (by over 10%). Over 75% of the products (by weight) are highly conductive precious metals. While the dielectric carrier does polymerize via an atmospheric oxygen reaction... and is directly related to break-in time... myself and most of my customers who have provided feedback love how it sounds 2 - 4 weeks out... as well as 2+ years out… and consider QS and QSG a necessary component in their respective systems. After break-in… the musical presentation is so natural sounding as if the performer was in the room!!!
