I was skeptical also about the long break in.
My Odyssey Monoblock Extremes which are 70 lbs of hunks o' metal took around 400 hours. How could a little outlet take so long???
Honestly the bass kicked in at around 350-375 hours.
Maybe the long break in has something to do with the limited current draw from a digital source and preamp versus the monoblocks.
A lot of people use other methods to break in these things it appears other than just hooking up to their audio system.
Have fun. It will all sound good around September. :)
