Of course it is possible to add a dedicated circuit; the cost depends on the difficulty.
Finding the right electrician is critical to success of this project.
How old is your circuit breaker panel? Some circuit breakers installed in the 1970s and later have been found to fail to trip upon gradual overload. See the link. There may be other types. We had our panel replaced when we added a central air conditioner because of this problem.
If you have such a panel, it is important to have it replaced. Having dedicated audio circuits installed at the same time will cost less because the workers will have to be there for the panel job anyway.
Your proposed extension cord experiment will give you only a little of the benefit of a dedicated circuit. It is better to have multiple dedicated lines, IMO, because this reduces the cross-coupling of power supply noise.
