the Black Hole 5 material is for inside of speakers...it absorbs sound similar to acoustic foam right? that's NOT what i used.
This Black Hole Pad is available from Speaker City in california...$7 per sheet.
A long time ago i puchased a bunch of the child safety caps and put them throughout my place...no change that i could tell. Only recently, last 2 months, did i put them in the unused outlets in my stereo's power strip. Here, i could tell a good change.
All i did was make circles of this adhesive vinyl damping material that are the same diameter as the child safety caps and stuck them to the flat top. So, when these are plugged in all i see is a black disc, not a white disc. One side of the BHP is adhesive...
It might be interesting to make a damping cover for the wall outlet too, similar to what Acme Audio sells for about $10...to go inbeteen the cover plate and the wall.
