I have heard nothing but praise when a Walker Audio tuning kit is used under speakers.
Of course, this would involve cutting slits in the carpet/padding, inserting the resonance control discs under the carpet/padding and then installing the Valid points under the speakers.
The slits would be invisible once all is said and done and I wouldn't advise doing the installation with your SO home at the same time!!!!
Of course, one could forgo the discs and use them atop the speakers and other components which they work quite when implemented.
