I am a long time modder.Recently I tried something New on my Modified Denon 3910.The cloth actually makes a difference and it works somehow.
I have always tried to rationalize why cables and compononts etc etc change sound and after 40 odd years discussing with scientific people I have a good feel for the how and why.
However this stuff is weird....instantly robbed loads of RF from around my switched mode power supply and I noticed it actually changes with time.......This variation concerns me......How does it work.?. Will it change more or is it in a state of flux?
Obviously it is position dependant from my experiments with just two sheets and looking at others comments I seem to be in agreement that its better away from analogue circuits and interconnects.I am also happy to discuss any mods for the Denon...
Saying that Ive actually tried wrapping some around my Power Leads for this Denon.I am a sceptic about having screened leads as they seem to have been less than stelar in the past...My theory is that any RFI noise passing backwards into the mains is increased and therby worsens the overall result....I may used the screened cable inside the Denon to the Board..but I certainly will cover the fuse with Stillpoints..Has any one any theories of practical knowledge of How this works. Not If.
