"Am I correct in assuming that you can insert an electrical lead into either one of the holes and the other is then used to release it."No. There are no quick insert mechanisms on the Oyaide receptacles.
One must unscrew the side/insert screw, hold the screw firmly to the side of the receptacle, fully insert the wire, which has been trimmed to the recommended length, and then tighten the screw down tight and I do mean tight. Check to make sure a secure connection has been made by tugging on the wire.
It does not matter which hole U use. The 2 holes are there to accomodate the daisy chain wiring method used in many homes/power conditioners.
