I would think the maker of your DAC put that cap there for a reason. Changing it to a short circuit (jumper wire) sounds weird to me . . . wouldn't that short out the transformer too? Can you ask the DAC manufacturer why the cap is there? If it is degrading the sound wouldn't you just remove it?
