I have my 85lb PS Audio PP600 sitting/balanced on a 6" wheelbarrow inner tube filled to about 4-6 psi and my 58lb Platinum Power PP-1 AC line balancer also on a 6" wheelbarrow inner tube at about 4-6 psi.The goal is to position the components on the tubes so they "float" yet are balanced in both planes as verified with a bubble level.
The PP600/innertube is sitting in the bottom support/shelf of a solid oak cabinet and the PP-1/inner tube is sitting on an 8" round piece of MDF44 which is then spiked to the concrete floor thru the carpet.
In fact, all my components are isolated either directly or indirectly with 6 or 8" inner tubes with the exception of the subwoofer amps.
I prefer the sound with the components air isolated BUT it is very important to also pay attention to what the inner tube is sitting on as this will add coloration if not very solid.
Cheers,
