I've been using plain ol' 12" innertubes as component mounts under preamp and CD player. They are, in turn, placed in a homemade oak component stand. My heavy (Mac 252) amplifier and my heavy power conditioner are presently resting directly on my brick-over-sand floor. I want to put some sound-absorbing mounting under the amp and conditioner: are more innertubes the way to go? I like their effect under the lighter weight components.
