I had a somewhat limited, several months experience trying the DRs in the power supply of an ARC REF 40 line stage years ago. I would say they sounded different, but not necessarily better in that location. I read a similar impression by an audio reviewer who came to the same conclusion with a different piece of equipment. If they were better, I would have bought more as they were expensive, but not like now. Or, maybe my conclusion was just wishful thinking?!!

There was also an issue identified several years ago with fake tubes that were really not DR's. A website sponsored by a Greek Audio Club had several pictures on how to identify an authentic DR versus the standard tube. Not exactly something you want to deal with at current prices.

If the 6H30's are used in a balanced circuit, I would at least try to make sure they are matched for iP and Gm.
