I'm using a Jolida JD-9 phono preamp that is about 10 years old. I replaced the stock Chinese 12AX7 pair with new production EH tubes when I bought it new. I would like to make this phono stage sound as good as it possibly can.
I need the highest gain I can get. Would 5751 12AX7's lower the gain? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a matched pair of RCA Command 12AX7s that I haven't tried yet.
