Commercial or homemade room treatments made a huge difference in my room. I used corner treatments as well as lots of heavy fabric wall hangings. Thick carpet makes a big difference too. When you clap in your room, can you hear a ringing of the sound?I swapped out my Svet KT-88s for some KT-90's and got more HF energy from the system. I'm not sure how the jargon related to those goes these days - these were the kind made around 1999 from the Russian factory that had so much production irregularity.
There were some interconnects (inexpensive Ag-plated Cu) that made my system too bright. Consider that also.
