I'll try my best to remember a few purchases but don't take it to the bank. I bought 100 Telly ECC83s (mail order)in the 1960s and paid 85 cents each. In the same order were 20 ECC803S' @ $1.15 each (I should have bought a garage full of them but who knew) There was an RCA tube store in my area sold nothing but tubes. He gave me a good deal was something like jobber less 10 less 5. I used to pay $1.85 for 7199s, $2.25 for 6CA7/EL34s, 5AR4/GZ34 for $1.55. There was also a TV supply house who sold GE and he used to charge $2.20 for 6CA7 fat bottles. EJ Korvettes used to sell Genalex and a matched pair of KT88s ran about $26.00. Fifty years ago the average house had more vacuum tubes then light bulbs. Tubes were plentiful and competition was keen.
