DaveI saw a couple negative posts but I don't remember where
and I cannot find them now - I googled & couldn't find them.
They weren't against the Red Wine Audio version of TriPath.
If I remember correctly they had to do with speaker choice,
low level detail and power supply quality. The last one Red Wine definitely covered -
it needs a quality high current power supply.Low Level Detail seems to be helped with Shakti Stones -
I use them and they DO work to different degrees
depending on the equipment and position they are placed.
Some equipment produce a large amount of hash.
Other equipment are very sensitive to the hash.
For example in my Sonic Fronteirs DAC they do ALOT.
On my Jolida tube amp they are more subtle in use.
DACs are known to produce alot of hash (EMI, RFI etc...)
so protecting other ICs from this hash can be heard.
The TriPath also produces hash (being a Digital Amp)
that can effect other equipment very easily.
I would definitely put a Shakti inside the amp.
Tube amps don't produce hash per say but the
dynamic swings are more natural with them on the OPTs.Speaker Choice is vague at best -
only trial and error can be used for this.
But this is true of ANY amp in ANY system.DanL
