On my 45 and 300B mono amplifiers the 2 pin holes are larger than the other pair on the two 45 tube sockets on the amplifier chassis(s). I just match up the larger pair of 45 tube pins with the larger tube socket pair of holes. I have used Cunningham, RCA, and other old 45 tubes with no problems to date. I have read sadly that on some new tube sockets the 4 tube socket holes are nearly identically sized on some tube sockets. That could be a real bummer when tube rolling you can easily become a dice roller. Just kidding.. Look at the 45 tube pins on your pair of 45 tubes in your hand. You should readily see that one set of pins is physically larger than the other pair. Just match up the larger set of tube pins with the larger pair of tube socket holes and you should be OK. If still in real doubt ask a friend, or ask a local service tech to help you out. John
