Cristian,The reason tubes are so often faked is that the differences are so subtle- and small in size- it's sometimes possible to convince people in photos by being "close enough". With Telefunken too, there have been more than one company that copies them- Ei in the former Yugosalvia based their ECC83/ 12AX7 on Telefunken- people often ask whether EI bought Telefinken tooling for this- and Tesla made a frame grid copy of the ECC803S which is very close in detail to the original- have several of these- but not an original Telefunken. If the Tesla copy were not known to me, I may well have bought the Telsa as Telefunken- except a real ECC803S is a $400 tube now and I paid $13 for the Teslas,...
With regard to the clip with tool marks, I was looking at the left side photo of:
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4683/diapositiva7bb0.jpg
-where the clip is a kind of thick bar that spans vertically between the micas and has that raw edge and marks- I don't see that bar/clip in the authentic ECC802S photo.
How about the diamond shape cast between the pins? That must be the real and absolute determinant detail in your real vs. false question.
