Re: Anyone with Experience Using Yaqin Tube Buffer Stage?

12.19.235.34

I have the original Musical Fidelity(6dj8's), The single tube Yaqin and the new Musical Fidelity (nuvistor) buffer amps.
The original 6dj8 Musical Fidelity was a revelation (I now have 3 of them!). I was more than a little reluctant to add another stage of electronics to my CD playback system but the difference was immediately noticeable and significant. Smoother sound better harmonics etc. The Yaqin with the single 6j1 was not as effective so I tube rolled and the change to a Philips 6Dj8 brought about a substantial improvement but still not quite to the level of the Musical Fidelity 2 6dj8 version. I would be extremely curious to hear the Yaqin 2 tube version with 6dj8's Now for Xmas my wife bought me new the nuvistor version of the Musical Fidelity which at $400 is about 4 x what I paid for the Yaqin. My recommendation would be to try the 2 tube version of the Yaqin with replacement 6dj8's as it can be had for a little over $100 delivered in the USA.

Good luck. Jerry
