Hi
Have never heard the 3 mica Raytheons, but own two pairs of the 2 micas. My pair of 1951 2-mica Raytheons are the best 12au7 type I have ever heard in the first stage of my power amp. I have several pairs of the CBS and while they look similar, the Raytheons are better and definitely different sounding. The CBS are my second favorites. I also own the Siemens silver plates and find them rather "clinical". However, if your room or system is a bit "laid back" then the Siemens probably make up for that and sound great. My system is fairly revealing so I prefer the slightly warmer sound of the Raytheons and CBS. To each their own. Just be aware that the Raytheons and CBS are definitely warmer sounding than the Siemens, but not quite as warm as the older Mullards. At least to my ears in my system.... Best of luck!don
