My configuration is as follows; Cary AES Six Packs on the bottom end, 50wpc. Dared SET-845 on top at 35 wpc. Bi-amped with an active crossover. Running original AR9s. In your experience were you able to gain some warmth and body by swapping the tubes? If not, what did you gain? The current sound just seems flat and un-involving. No warmth or texture. I can't believe I am actually saying this. I didn't appreciate how different two tube amps could sound until now. Do various 12AU7s, or any tubes of same type but different make, really sound that different? Anything you can share would be great. Thanks again.
